Toddler Food Recipes
You know what you are supposed to feed your baby the first year of life, and when your baby is older, they pretty much can eat all that you do, providing they have their molars in on time. However, for some toddlers that do not yet have all their teeth, but want to try everything (or nothing!), you may not be sure how to feed them so that they are getting all the nutrition they should have each day. They are limited because they do not have the ability to grind up tough foods that you may eat all the time. Toddler food recipes don’t have to be too complicated, but you should offer a variety if you can.
Breakfast toddler food recipes are easy enough as long as you keep things simple. Proteins are important to growing children, and breakfast is one of the easiest times to get what they need. Remember that children under the age of two need a lot of fats for brain development, so don’t be afraid to give them a scrambled egg, even if you watch how many egg yokes you eat each week. They can also have toast with a very thin spread of peanut butter. Yogurts and baby cereals with fruit are also great choices for toddlers.
Lunch can be a bit more tricky. Peanut butter on bread is still a good option, and each toddler should have a serving of fruit and vegetables for lunch. Cooked carrots in small squares are good, and so are apples, but you may have to cook them and cool them before you serve them. Baby food companies make these in small bits for toddlers, so buy those if doing it yourself is out of the question. Watch foods that are circular in toddler food recipes, as they can be choking hazards. If you serve hotdogs, make sure you cut them so that they are not in a circular slice.
Dinner options for your toddler can be many things that you like to eat. Homemade mac and cheese is always a good one, as they can usually chew this with no problem. You can also give them things like lasagna (without meat so they can chew) or some of your mashed potatoes. Don’t forget to also give them veggies and fruit at dinner time, and make these things for snacks during the day as well. Meat is hard for toddler food recipes only because they are lacking molars. Once they have them, introduce the meats that you normally eat in bites they can handle.

Watch how your toddler reacts to each new food to see if they are having problems chewing. They will probably do better than you think they will, but you have to watch new foods for choking issues. The most important thing you can do with your toddler food recipes is to make them healthy and keep offering new foods because it can take a while for them to be accepted by your toddler. Avoid sugars and make things at home rather than from a box. Encourage as many fruits and vegetables as you can and they will build good, life-long habits that will keep them healthy.
